: Description:

TerraSana Organic Kombu Seaweed, dried. Kombu seaweed is usually cooked with rice or beans to add an extra umami flavour to side dishes. But they can also be combined with shiitake to make a delicious dashi, the basic Japanese broth.
Use 2.5 g Kombu (5-6 cm) for the basic broth:
  1. Rinse the kombu well a few times.
  2. Leave to soak for about 15 minutes, then pour away the soaking water.
  3. Put the kombu in a pot with 1 litre of water and bring it slowly to the boil for about 20 minutes.
  4. Remove the kombu from the broth before the water boils completely.
  5. Add shiitake or other vegetables as desired.
  6. The kombu is not eaten with it.
