Fontaine Organic Natural Sourdough. Baking without complicated work preparation. Fontaine Natural Sourdough is ready be used. Bake bread like grandmother did. The baking ingredients provides a hearty taste.
Baking instructions
  • Put the flour or meal mix in a bowl, make a pan in ground and add some lukewarm water.
  • Dissolve the yeast with honey or sugar in it until it starts to foam.
  • Before slicing, knead the Fontaine natural sourdough with your hands and add the contents to the yeast solution.
  • Dissolve the salt in the remaining water and knead everything into an evenly smooth dough (possibly with a hand mixer).
  • Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and set in a warm place for 10 to 20 minutes.
  • In the meantime, grease 1-2 baking tins (loaf tins are best) or sprinkle a baking tray evenly with flour.
  • Then knead the dough again briefly and pour it half full into the baking pan. Alternatively, form 1-2 loaves by hand and place on the floured baking sheet.
  • Cover and let rise in a warm place until the dough has doubled in volume (about 30 minutes). Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 220°C.
  • Then score lightly with a sharp knife and brush with lukewarm water.
  • Tip: For a particularly crispy crust, place a flat can of hot water in the oven and leave it in the oven while baking.
  • Bake on the lower rail for approx. 60 minutes.
  • Convection oven: 10 minutes at 220°C, then switch back to 170°C and bake for another 50 minutes. (Gas stove: level 3-4)
  • Take the loaves out of the tin, brush generously with water and bake for another 10 minutes at the same temperature. Let the loaves cool on a wire rack.
