Application:
For fruit spread, purée 500 g fruit, add sweetener, 1 tbsp. lemon juice, 1 tsp. agar agar (approx. 3 g), bring to the boil while stirring, boil for 2-10 minutes depending on the type of fruit and fill into prepared jars.
For firm jelly, mix 2 tsp. agar agar (approx. 5 g) with 500 ml liquid, bring to the boil briefly while stirring, allow to cool down.
Tip: Agar agar thickens when cooled down at approx. 35 °C. Make a gelling test on a cold plate.

Although the powder from the bag smells a bit like seaweed, the smell and taste are neutralised by the preparation. The gelling agent is very economical and easy to mix. I find it is even easier to use than gelatine. Since I love to bake, I really need a good thickener for cream and creams. With Arche's agar agar, my cakes turn out wonderfully. I can therefore recommend the product and give it five stars.
Ich lebe weder vegan noch vegetarisch, aber an bestimmten Stellen, die mir leichtfallen, versuche ich, bewusst auf tierische Lebensmittel zu verzichten. Deshalb verwende ich auch Agar Agar statt Gelatine. Zwar riecht das Pulver aus dem Beutel etwas nach Algen, durch die Zubereitung werden Geruch und Geschmack jedoch neutralisiert. Das Geliermittel ist sehr ergiebig und lässt sich leicht anrühren. Ich finde, es lässt sich sogar leichter verwenden als Gelatine. Da ich sehr gerne backe, benötige ich für Sahne und Cremes unbedingt ein gutes Verdickungsmittel. Mit dem Agar Agar von Arche gelingen meine Torten wunderbar.
