Bio Ultner Brot specialties

:

In the North of Italy there is one of the most beautiful hiking areas in the world: South Tyrol. Framed by majestic 3,000 m high mountains, the Alps show their most beautiful side here. In the morning thick fog hangs over the valley and you can only guess where the tops of the mountains are. Who wants to go on a long hiking trip in the mountains has to get up early. In the cool, clear morning air, the tiredness however quickly disappears. During the ascent, the sun rays slowly dissolve the fog and allow the hikers spectacular views. The mountain peaks majestically stand out from the deep blue of the sky. On the shady side of some mountain the peaks are still covered with snow. The sublime beauty of the mountains and the silence up here let everyone forget about everyday life.

When you reached the alp you can get off the jacket and unpack the sunscreen. The revitalizing effect of the sun and the mountain air make you feel like hiking at leat now. Every now and then you can hear the ringing of a cow bell. On the lush mountain pastures you can see curious cows ruminating leisurely and enjoying the clean mountain air. For proper alp of course requires a chalet. Here the alpine shepherd or dairymaid spends the summer watching the flock. Some of these chalets offer weary hikers a rustic lodging for the night. Guests staying here can look forward to hearty South Tyrolean cuisine. After having taken off the hiking boots and taken seat on one of the wooden benches in the middle of the Tyrolean mountains regional specialties are served: Vinschgauer, for example, are small, crispy flat breads made from rye-wheat sourdough with the fresh aroma of caraway and fennel. Cut into thin strips, the famous South Tyrolean bacon comes with it. Depending on the landlord, there will be home-made salami or spicy "Kaminwurzen” (smoked sausage). Strong cheese and full-fat cheese from the dairymaid is not missing as well. Everything is rounded off with a glass of ruby Vernatsch. While eating in the evening sun, the mountains turn red ans you can prepare for the peace of the following day.

Even those who do not have the opportunity to eat in the alpine scenery can easily bring the flair of the Italian Alps to their homes. This begins with the aromatic breads of the bread bakery Ultner. In St. Walburg in Ultental pure rye bread is baked traditionally with homemade sourdough. Bio Ultner Brot Vinschger Paarl tastes especially as a hearty snack. The pack contains two of the traditional South Tyrolean breads. The taste is dominated by the flavors of the typical ingredients caraway and fennel. Due to the high proportion of crust, they stay fresh longer than other rye breads and therefore are an ideal food for a journey. The original Ultner Minis do not only look tasty, they are tasty as well. As Vinschger they have the typical fennel and caraway flavor. The compact shape makes them the ideal travelling or break time snack. The complete indulgence of caraway and fennel can be reached if you briefly heat the bread in the oven. Now just add a piece of raw ham, fresh cheese or savory cream cheese and nothing stands in the way of a rustic snack.

In addition to hearty breads the South Tyrolean bakery also makes crunchy snacks. Some bakeries have already tried the combination of muesli and bread and now have tasty muesli breads and muesli rolls in their range. Bio Ultner Brot combines crusty bread and grainy muesli to extra ordinary muesli chips. They are ideal for long sessions at the desk or as an alternative to crisps at a TV evening. Another Tyrolean nibbles are Struzen Chips, which are manufactured by Ultner according to traditional recipes. The delicious bread chips with hazelnuts and fruist are a crunchy-crispy snack in between meals. The rustic aroma of cumin and fennel alternates between the taste of hazelnuts, raisins and currants. Also a treat in the lowlands.
