BioGourmet Organic Chickpeas, dried. Chickpeas are an important ingredient in many international dishes. Southern European, Arabic-Oriental and Indian cuisine, for example, would be unthinkable without them as the basis for countless specialities. Pureed, they can be found in hummus, for example; cooked whole, they add flavour and zest to couscous, soups, stews, salads, stir-fries and many other dishes. With their slightly nutty flavour, pulses harmonise wonderfully with almost any other ingredient.
Basic recipe for one portion:
Soak 80 g chickpeas in plenty of cold water for approx. 12 hours. Then bring the chickpeas to the boil in a pan of fresh water and simmer for 30-45 minutes.
