Cornstarch for baking and cooking

Spielberger Organic Starch, gluten free is suitable for baking, desserts, creams and cold fruit compote as well as for thickening sauces and soups.
Recipe recommendation: Madeira cake 
Stir 250 g butter with 200 g sugar and 1 packet vanilla sugar. Separate 4 eggs into yolks and whites. Add the egg yolks to the butter mixture and continue to stir. Mix 300 g wheat flour type 405 with 100 g cornflour and 1 sachet pure tartar baking powder and stir into the egg yolk mixture alternately with 125 ml milk. Finally, fold in the stiffly beaten egg whites. Pour the batter into a greased, floured cake tin and bake in a preheated oven at 175 °C (fan-assisted oven) for approx. 60 minutes.

Preparation: Mix cornstarch in cold liquid and then stir into the boiling liquid. Bring to the boil briefly. To thicken sauces and soups, approx. 4 level tablespoons (40 g) of starch are needed per litre of liquid. For flummeries and porridge, approx. 90 g of starch per litre of liquid are needed, for creams approx. 60 g.

Very good quality, which we find to be the best out of several strengths available here. We found out about the good quality when cooking pudding. The consistency is the best, the pudding becomes very creamy and the taste is very mild. The pudding tastes like vanilla or cocoa, not like starch as we found with some other starch brands. Highly recommended.
