De Rit Organic Crisps and Snacks

:

Potato chips are not only in Germany a popular snack. In most other European countries, the chips bag is opened after work as well. As soon as there is time to relax, the palate will be spoiled. Only the British do not want to wait that long. In the UK, chips are just as common as the famous cup of tea. On the island you do not say chips, but ”crisps“. And even the smallest kiosk has at least a dozen different varieties on offer. The English are already nibbling ”crisps“ on their way to work or during their lunch break. Every second student has ”crisps“ in the lunch box. When it comes to ”crisps“, even Scots and Englishmen agree. On average, each of them consumes about 100 packs a year. The British are surprisingly experimental when it comes to the variety. Whether flavors such as mint, oyster or crab also prevail outside the UK is rather questionable.

The inventor of potato chips is supposed to be American chef George Crum. In 1853, a guest complained that his fried potatoes were not thin enough. As a result, Crum cut the potatoes so thin that they were too crisp after baking to be impaled with a fork. But instead of outraging the guest, Crum had created a new favourite dish for him. Soon after, he began to bake the potato slices in fat and put it on the menu permanently. Many Britons are ”not amused“ about the fact that an American should have invented the ”crisps“. In their opinion, we owe the potato chips to the Englishman William Kitchiner. Already in 1817, he published a cookbook, in which he also had a recipe for crispy baked potato slices.

One thing is certain: young and old alike love the spiced thin potato slices. Crisps are simply delicious. At the Dutch organic brand De Rit, crisps and snacks are produced according to the best old tradition. For maximum indulgence and authentic taste, the crisps are gently baked in the shell with cold-pressed sunflower oil. While the Potato Chips from de Rit come in sea salt and paprika varieties, the Chickpea Crisps in sea salt, paprika, sour cream and onion and rosemary flavours provide plenty of variety.

The crispy and fluffy bean sticks are based on white beans and are available in sea salt and paprika flavours. The finely salted peanut flips from de Rit are also a great addition to any snack bar. The cheese sticks with tasty Gouda are a delicious snack for young and old. The crisps and snacks from de Rit are the perfect accompaniment to a cosy evening in front of the TV or a get-together with friends.
