Davert Organic Millet: Unit: 500 g

Davert Organic Fine Grain Millet. The millet has a very short cooking time and a fine taste of grains. The grain is often processed to porridge, custard or patties. Also popular are sweet or savory stews, salads and desserts.
Recipe tip: Millet patties
Chop 1 onion, 1 clove of garlic and 1 leek and sauté in oil. Add 500 g millet, sauté briefly and deglaze with 1 litre milk. Season with 2 tsp sea salt and pepper. Leave to soak over low heat for 20 minutes and allow to cool. Grate 250 g gouda cheese and slice 6 to 8 tomatoes. Then mix the millet with 3 egg yolks. Beat the 3 egg whites until stiff and fold into the mixture. Portion out small patties onto a paper-lined baking tray and cover with the tomato slices, sprinkle with basil, pepper and the cheese. Bake in the oven at 200 °C for approx. 35 minutes.

Boil 125 g millet in twice the amount of lightly salted water and simmer over low heat for 7-10 minutes.
