: Review date:I love this syrup, especially in summer. However, the stated mixing ratio of 1:7 is a bit extreme. For two glasses of Hugo light, I mix 200 ml of sparkling wine with 40-50 ml of syrup, a large stalk of fresh mint from the garden, half a lime, partially squeezed (just by hand), 4 large ice cubes, stir and top up with approx. 400 ml of sparkling mineral water. This makes 2 delicious, refreshing drinks with very little alcohol. If you like more, swap mineral water for sparkling wine (my favourite) or Prosecco.
Ich liebe diesen Sirup, grade im Sommer. Das angegebene Mischverhältnis von 1:7 ist allerdings etwas krass. Für zwei Gläser „Hugo light“ mische ich 200 ml Sekt mit 40-50 ml Sirup, dazu einen großen Stengel frische Minze aus dem Garten, eine halbe Limette, teilweise ausgepresst (einfach so mit der Hand), 4 große Eiswürfel, rühre um und gieße mit ca. 400 ml kohlensäurehaltigem Mineralwasser auf. Das ergibt 2 köstliche, erfrischende Getränke mit wenig Alkohol. Wer gerne mehr mag, tauscht eben Mineralwasser gegen Sekt (mein Favorit) oder Prosecco.

: Review date:The syrup tastes really delicious like elderberry. I find the stated mixing ratio of 1:7 a little exaggerated. Personally, I always add just a small shot of it to the mineral water. A big plus is that the syrup is in a glass bottle. A minus point, because with the large bottle opening, a lot comes out if you're not careful. A dosing cap or similar would help.
Der Sirup schmeckt wirklich sehr lecker nach Holunder. Das angegebene Mischverhältnis von 1:7 finde ich etwas übertrieben. Ich persönlich gebe nur immer einen kleinen Schuss davon ins Mineralwasser. Ein großer Pluspunkt ist, dass sich der Sirup in einer Glasflasche befindet. Ein Minuspunkt, weil bei der großen Flaschenöffnung sehr viel rauskommt, wenn man nicht aufpasst. Eine Dosierkappe o.ä. würde Abhilfe schaffen.

Bis dato hatten wir den Holunderblütensirup aus dem Supermarkt. Ist nicht schlecht. Gerade im Sommer mit Mineralwaser gemischt eine Erfrischung. Dieses Jahr hatte ich mir gedacht, probierst mal Bio. Etwas teurer - Aber jeden Cent mehr Wert! Das schmeckt so lecker, dass wir ihn bis hinein in den Winter getrunken haben, bis er schließlich alle war. Freu mich schon auf den nächsten Sommer.

: Review date:I ordered the elderflower syrup from the Violey company quite often this summer, because it is just perfect for making Hugo. The self-mixed cocktail tastes so much more natural and better than the ready-mixed bottles that you can buy in the shops. The lemon in it harmonises perfectly with the mint, and the finished drink tastes fresh and tangy. The Hugo went down very well at our barbecues this year. For the drivers, there was of course a version without alcohol. The guests also enjoyed it very much. We are thrilled and will definitely order the syrup again next season.
Den Sirup aus Holunderblüten habe ich diesen Sommer recht häufig bei der Firma Violey bestellt, denn er eignet sich einfach perfekt für die Zubereitung von Hugo. Der selbst gemixte Cocktail schmeckt so viel natürlicher und besser als die fertig gemischten Flaschen, die es im Handel zu kaufen gibt. Die enthaltene Zitrone harmoniert super mit der Minze, der fertige Drink schmeckt frisch und spritzig. Bei unseren diesjährigen Grillfeiern kam der Hugo sehr gut an. Für die Fahrer gab es natürlich eine Variante ohne Alkohol. Auch der schmeckte den Gästen prima. Wir sind begeistert und werden den Sirup in der nächsten Saison bestimmt wieder bestellen.

: Review date:As a child, I used to drink homemade elderflower syrup at my grandmother's house. This wonderful childhood memory still accompanies me today, so I have often tested different products. But unfortunately no syrup came close to the taste of that time, until I tried the one from Voelkel. It really tastes (almost) exactly like I remember it. Since then, I order the syrup regularly and like to remember the good old days. I can recommend it with a clear conscience, because it tastes like homemade. Very intense and not too sweet. I prefer to drink a glass diluted with ice-cold mineral water. It quenches my thirst and is refreshing.
Als Kind habe ich früher, bei meiner Oma, immer selbstgemachten Sirup aus Holunderblüten getrunken. Diese wunderbare Kindheitserinnerung begleitet mich noch bis heute, daher habe ich schon häufig verschiedene Produkte getestet. Aber leider kam kein Sirup an den Geschmack von damals heran, bis ich den von Voelkel probiert habe. Der schmeckt wirklich (fast) genauso wie in meiner Erinnerung. Seitdem bestelle ich den Sirup regelmäßig und erinnere mich dann gerne an die gute alte Zeit. Ich kann ihn guten Gewissens weiterempfehlen, denn er schmeckt wie selbstgemacht. Sehr intensiv und nicht zu süß. Am liebsten trinke ich ein Glas, verdünnt mit eiskaltem Mineralwasser. Das löscht den Durst und wirkt erfrischend.
