Spielberger Organic Wild Emmer. Emmer is an ancient grain of durum wheat. The whole grains can be used either ground or rolled into flakes. Enjoy the delicate nutty flavour in warm porridge or fresh cereals, in baked goods, for soups, patties or as a side dish.
Recipe: emmer wholemeal bread
Ingredients: 500 g emmer, 10 g salt, 20 g yeast, 350 ml warm water
Preparation: Finely grind the emmer. Dissolve the yeast in the warm water and knead with the remaining ingredients to form a smooth dough. Cover and leave in a warm place for 1-2 hours. Knead for 5 minutes and leave to rise in a greased and floured baking tin for 1 hour. Brush the bread with some water and bake in a preheated oven at 200 °C on the bottom shelf for approx. 45 minutes.
