Govinda Organic Banana Flour. The gluten free organic banana flour can be used as versatile as traditional types of flour and even as starch. When baking cakes, brownies, etc. about 30% can be replaced with banana flour. For meals like pancakes, semolina porridge or roux, you can even replace 100% of the traditinal type of flour with banana flour. Also suitable as a binding agent for sauces and soups.
Recipe: Vegan pancakes
  • 200 g banana flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 150 ml apple juice
  • 150 ml vegetable drink
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 2 tsp coconut blossom syrup
  • 1-3 tbsp mineral water (gassy)

Mix flour and baking powder in a bowl. Add remaining ingredients and stir with a hand mixer. The mineral water provides a smooth dough. Bake in a coated pan at medium-high level. Add some topping, if desired, and enjoy.

Tastes only slightly of banana and can be used sweet or savoury. Good for baking, also for bread and pancakes. What didn't work for me was thickening sauce or cake glaze with it (it forms lumps).

Schmeckt nur ganz minimal nach Banane und lässt sich süß wie herzhaft verwenden. Gut zum Backen, auch für Brot und Pfannkuchen. Was bei mir nicht funktioniert hat, ist Sauce oder Tortenguss damit anzudicken (bildet Klumpen).

Das ist doch mal eine witzige Sache, Banane als Mehl. Vielseitig ist es auch. Egal ob als teilweisen Ersatz beim Backen, als vollwertige Beilage bei allen Süßen wie Pancake oder eben im Smoothies. Es schmeckt irgendwie überall.
