Govinda Kala Namak is a black salt. Kala Namak is charactarized by its delicate, sulfurous aroma and the smoky flavour. It is very popular in the vegan cuisine and gives an excellent taste of scrambled eggs when combined with tofu.

I can’t imagine my kitchen without this salt anymore. I mainly use it on cooked vegetables (it’s brilliant on cooked cauliflower with a bit of browned butter) and on avocado, together with Rapunzel’s Finca la Torre olive oil. I find this combination simply delicious. You should use it sparingly, though, otherwise it quickly becomes too salty. Of all the Kala Namak varieties available here, I prefer the consistency of Govinda’s the most.

Ich kann mir meine Küche ohne dieses Salz nicht mehr vorstellen. Ich benutze es vor allem für gekochtes Gemüse (auf gekochtem Blumenkohl mit etwas gebräunter Butter ist es genial) und für Avocado zusammen mit dem Finca la Torre Olivenöl von Rapunzel. In der Kombination finde ich es einfach köstlich. Man sollte es allerdings sparsam verwenden, sonst wir es schnell zu salzig. Von all den Kala Namak- Sorten, die hier angeboten werden, gefällt mir die Konsistenz von Govinda am besten.

Ob fürs veggie Rührei oder in den Nudel,- oder Kartoffelsalat, die Sauce Hollandaise oder was auch immer - überall wo sonst "Ei" hinein käme, bringt mir dieses Gewürz den klassischen Ei-Geschmack! Toll!
