Pilze Wohlrab Organic Dried Shiitake Mushrooms. The dried shiitake mushrooms in slices can be easily prepared and can be processed like fresh mushrooms. Enjoy the concentrated mushroom flavor for your soups, sauces or casseroles.
Preparation:
  1. Put dried mushrooms in a bowl.
  2. Cover with 100° C hot water.
  3. Let the mushrooms soak for 30-60 minutes.
  4. Strain soaked mushrooms.
  5. Filter mushroom stock through a fine kitchen paper.
  6. Process soaked mushrooms just like fresh mushrooms.

Tip from the manufacturer: You can use the mushroom stock for soups and sauces or you can fill it in an ice cube mold and freeze it. This way you always have a spicy mushroom base ready. Please thoroughly heat mushrooms and mushroom stock during preparation. Not suitable for raw consumption!

I’m just not very good with dried shiitake mushrooms. Even though I poured boiling water over them and left them to soak for over an hour, once I’d added them to the dish – which was then cooked for another 20 minutes or so – they were as tough as leather. As there are otherwise only positive reviews, I’m sure I’m doing something wrong. What I really liked was that the mushrooms weren’t scraps or offcuts, but really well-cut whole mushrooms of various sizes.

Also mit getrockneten Shitakepilzen habe ich kein Händchen. Trotz mit kochendem Wasser übergießen und über einer Stunde ziehen lassen, waren diese nach Zugabe zu dem vorbereiteten Gericht, das auch nochmals so ca 20 min. garte, zäh wie Leder. Da es ansonsten nur positive Bewertungen gibt, mache ich sicher einen Fehler. Was ich ganz toll fand; die Pilze waren keine Reste, kein Abfälle, sondern wirklich gut geschnitten größere und kleinere ganze Pilze.

These mushrooms taste very good. If you pour hot water over them as indicated and leave them to infuse for 30 - 60 minutes, you get a nice quantity of mushrooms afterwards that actually taste like fresh mushrooms. I could not have imagined that before. I made a cream of mushroom soup with them. The quantity is enough for 2 people.

Diese Pilze schmecken sehr gut. Wenn man sie wie angegeben mit heißem Wasser übergießt und 30 - 60 Minuten ziehen lässt, erhält man hinterher eine schöne Menge Pilze, die tatsächlich wie frische Pilze schmecken. Das hatte ich mir vorher nicht vorstellen können. Ich habe daraus eine Pilzcremesuppe gemacht. Die Menge reicht gut für 2 Personen.
