Spice mix for the preparation of 2 portions Gyros

Beltane biofix Gyros. It has never been so easy to dish up the vitality of Greek cuisine. Seasoning is done in two steps: At roasting and at cooking!
Recipe Greek Gyros with onions and peppers
Ingredients (for 2 people):
  • 1 pack Beltane biofix Greek Gyros
  • 300 g chicken breast (or steak e.g. pork, beef)
  • 100 g bell pepper, red or yellow
  • 100 g onions
  • 2 tbs. sour cream
  • 100 ml water
Preparation
  1. Dice the meat and cut the paprika and the onions into strips, prepare water.
  2. Give 2 tbs. cooking oil (e.g. olive oil) and spice mix 1 (small sachet) in a non-stick frying pan. Heat gently until the spices exude their scents, then add the meat and brown. Add onions and paprika and continue browning for a few minutes.
  3. Add water and stir in spice mix 2 (large sachet) and simmer covered for about 5 minutes. Afterwards let the liquid boil down at a higher temperature and fry meat until crisp. Stir occasionally. Serve with sour cream.
Tip: Fry meat with fresh garlic. Serve with pita.

This "gyros" is a little strange. It does not correspond to the gyros that one usually knows from the spit or as pan gyros. It's more like a spicy paprika meat pan with sauce. It tastes delicious, I've made it several times. But for me, the term "gyros" does not apply here.

Dieses "Gyros" ist etwas merkwürdig. Es entspricht nicht dem Gyros, was man üblicherweise vom Spieß oder als Pfannengyros kennt. Es entspricht eher einer würzigen Paprika-Fleischpfanne mit Soße. Es schmeckt lecker, ich habe es schon mehrfach zubereitet. Aber für mich ist die Bezeichnung "Gyros" hier nicht zutreffend.
