In most people's minds, grain mills still work as they did in the Middle Ages. Of course, this is far from today's reality. Like many traditional crafts, that of the miller is an art refined over hundreds of years. The tradition of the flour mill in Brackenheim, Baden-Württemberg goes back to 1698. The Spielberger family has owned the mill for three generations. Anthroposophy and holistic thinking have always played an important role for the Spielbergers. In 1959 Hans Spielberger converted the land belonging to the mill to Demeter cultivation; since the 1980s the mill has only processed organic and Demeter cereals. The flake mill in Würzburg has been working according to Demeter guidelines since 1950. Due to 75 years of experience in the production of cereal flakes, first-class organic flakes are produced there from over 20 types of grain.
