And when I spread homemade buttercream on it, it's an unsurpassable combination against which a Yes tortie, despite the candle on it - but so much - lags behind. :-)
Dieser Honigkuchen schmeckt so, wie Honigkuchen schmecken muss. Er hat all meine Erwartungen erfüllt. Aber hinzu kommt das sehr gute Gefühl, das man beim essen von Bio-Produkten hat. Und wenn ich dann noch selbstgemachte Buttercreme drauf streiche, dann ist das eine unübertreffliche Kombination, gegen die ein Yes-Tortie, trotz Kerze drauf - aber sowas von - hinterher hinkt. :-)

: Review date:Two years ago, this product gave us the idea of eating honey cake again. At the moment (now in May) we are denying ourselves honey cake and only want to enjoy it again at Christmas time. Otherwise, it's nothing special anymore. De Rit's honey cake is drier than the somewhat sticky honey cake I remember from my childhood. The taste is first class. Since everything is usually a bit too sweet for me, I eat honey cake on a slice of toast spread with butter. I definitely recommend a nice cup of coffee or cappuccino with the honey cake.
Durch dieses Produkt sind wir vor zwei Jahren überhaupt erst wieder auf die Idee gekommen, Honigkuchen zu essen. Zurzeit (jetzt im Mai) verkneifen wir uns Honigkuchen und möchten ihn erst wieder zur Weihnachtszeit genießen. Sonst ist es nichts mehr Besonderes. Der Honigkuchen von De Rit ist trockener als der etwas klebrige Honigkuchen, den ich aus meiner Kindheit kenne. Geschmacklich ist er erstklassig. Da mir meist alles etwas zu süß ist, esse ich Honigkuchen auf einer Scheibe Toastbrot, das ich mit Butter bestrichen habe. Zum Honigkuchen empfehle ich auf jeden Fall eine schöne Tasse Kaffee oder Cappuccino.

: Review date:I would describe this cake more as a kind of honey bread. It looks exactly the same and the consistency when chewing reminds me more of bread. The cake has an orange to brownish colour and tastes quite sweet. Since it is pre-sliced, you can simply take out the desired number of slices and close the rest again. Ideal for coffee or tea in the afternoon. The taste of the cake reminds me of the chocolate-covered gingerbread hearts or pretzels that you can always buy in the supermarket at Christmas. I really like the honey bread. I will definitely order it again.
Ich würde diesen Kuchen eher als eine Art Honigbrot bezeichnen. Es sieht nämlich genauso aus und auch die Konsistenz beim Kauen erinnert mich mehr an ein Brot. Der Kuchen hat eine orange bis bräunliche Farbe und schmeckt recht süß. Da er bereits in Scheiben vorgeschnitten ist, kann man einfach die gewünschte Anzahl an Scheiben entnehmen und den Rest wieder verschließen. Ideal zum Kaffee oder Tee am Nachmittag. Geschmacklich erinnert mich der Kuchen stark an die, mit Schokolade überzogenen Lebkuchenherzen bzw. -brezeln, die es an Weihnachten immer im Supermarkt zu kaufen gibt. Mir schmeckt das „Honigbrot“ richtig gut. Werde es daher bestimmt noch einmal nachbestellen.
