De Cecco Organic Fusilli n° 34. In the past, fusilli was made by hand using a method passed down from mother to daughter. A spaghetti had to be wrapped around a knitting needle particularly quickly and skilfully. The dexterity required for this activity is very reminiscent of spinning machines and in fact the term ‘fusillo’ comes from ‘fuso’, the typical working tool for spinning machines. Fusilli are delicious with both meat and fish sauces, as well as ricotta-based sauces. And, of course, they can also be served with tomato-based vegetable sauces. Because of its versatility, spiral pasta is a real pasta classic.
