Weleda Deodorants

:

To a well-groomed exterior also belongs a pleasant smell. The smell influences the first impression more than hair style, pronunciation or clothing style. Even the finest outfit loses its effect with an inappropriate odor. In German there is the expression „Man kann jemanden nicht riechen” (in English: One is not able so smell someone.), which means that you can’t stand the other person. The right fragrance can of course also have a tremendously positive effect. Which scent you choose, thus should be considered very well. Spicy or rather fresh, flowery, sweetish or perhaps rather woody? There are many scents and almost endless possibilities to combine them. Regardless of which you choose in the end, for fragrances, the following applies in principle: less is more! Nobody wants to sit in the train or on the bus in a cloud of perfume. Especially older ladies and very young men often use too much. This is usually not intended by the elderly. Many have simply used the same perfume for many years. As a result, they barely perceive the fragrance and press more frequently on the spray head of their perfume bottle than necessary. For young men, the reason is primarily the uncertainty regarding one's own body odor. In order to not smell of sweat, they spray their deodorant for a little more often than necessary.

Teenagers often think that deodorant and perfume are in principle the same. After all, they are only fragrances, aren’t they? It is not so simple, however, because even if both have the same scents, they differ significantly in their composition and mode of action. Moreover, the deodorant is a comparatively new invention. Perfume, as we know it today, already existed in 17th century France. At the court of Versailles, not only the king, but also the whole court wanted to smell good. Nobles, who thought much of themselves, also expressed this with expensive fragrances. The use of noble fragrances, however, was not only a question of prestige, it also had a very practical use. For, at the time of Louis XIV, most aristocrats went very easy with water. One only took a bath very rarely and instead of grasping the soap, one reached to the powder can and perfume bottle. The high demand led to the emergence of a new profession, the perfumer.

Since the 17th century, perfume consists essentially of the same components. Responsible for the fragrance are ingredients from essential or (since the 20th century) synthetic oils. A mixture of water and alcohol ensures that the perfume can be sprayed easily. The higher the component of the oils, the higher the quality and the more expensive is the perfume. It is therefore divided into different classes. In the Eau de Solide, the total proportion of the fragrances is only 1-3%, the Eau de Cologne contains between 3 and 5%. Thereafter comes the Eau de Toilet with 6 to 9%, whereby some variants can also have higher concentrations. The Eau de Parfum reaches 10 to 14 percent, but there are variants of up to 20%. The highest concentration of fragrances is the Extrait Perfume with up to 30% oil content. The higher the concentration, the more intense and long-lasting is the fragrance.

Perfume differs from deodorant mainly by the mode of action. A perfume can only cover existing body odor. A deodorant, on the other hand, usually also influences sweat gland activity and thus the microorganisms involved in the formation of odor. Sweat itself is odorless. Only when its constituents on the skin are metabolized by bacteria, the typical sweaty smell emerges. In order to inhibit the sweat production, aluminum salts were used for a long time in deodorants. However, due to their potential side effects, more and more people are looking for alternatives. In natural cosmetics, aluminum salts are even often dispensed with. Just like Weleda does.

The Deodorants and Deo Roll-Ons from Weleda are the ideal addition to the popular care lines of the natural cosmetics pioneer. The Wild Rose Deodorant refreshes with the harmonizing fragrances of Damascus roses and ylang-ylang. Those who like the Citrus Refreshing Body Wash will also like the mild-fresh effect of the Citrus Deodorant. The Citrus Deo Roll-On is the perfect complement and offers men and women reliable protection. The Sage Deodorant inhibits the emergence of body odor with essential oils and an extract from liquorice root. The Deo Roll-On Men complements the Weleda Men product line. The Pomegranate Deo Roll-On for women creates a sensual fragrance experience with an exotic combination of orange and Davana and the balsamic notes of vanilla.
