Byodo Organic Casarecce Rice-Corn. Casarecce is a pasta variety that was probably invented in Sicily. The name is derived from the Italian "casereccio", which means homemade. The shape of this short pasta with an S-shaped cross-section is reminiscent of a small scroll. Because of its special shape, it is often served with thick, creamy sauces. In this version, the casarecce are not made from durum wheat semolina, but from corn and rice flour.

I used it to make a casserole with feta and spinach and have to say that I didn't notice any difference between durum wheat pasta.
