Bergland Sea salt Scrub

:

Salt is inextricably linked with the history and biology of humans. And yet, the hidden mineral existed long time before mankind evolved. About 300 million years ago, salts started to accumulate under the earth`s surface. Over the millennia, these were leached out from the rocks by the primordial oceans, which made the seas saltier. By drying out, the salt was deposited, covered and again integrated into the rock layers. Our ancestors, that settled near the coast discovered the value of the white crystals and learned to obtain sea salt by evaporation. Salt was utilized universally. In ancient Egypt salt was used to treat wounds due to its disinfecting effect. Already 2.400 years ago Hippocrates was convinced of the fact that all life would derive from the sea. Did the most famous physician of antiquity know about the positive effect of the dissolved salt crystals? Probably yes because the resourceful Greek was not only a doctor but also a scientist.

The most important function of salt of course was and still is the seasoning of dishes. Even a small pinch of salt makes the difference between a deficient and a perfect dish. Long before there were refrigerators, meat could only be preserved by salting and curing. Therefore, the demand increased continuously. Salt was not only obtained through evaporation of seawater. In the interior salt was leached out from salines and salt springs and then obtained by evaporation. Another source was salt stocks which were mined. If someone neither had sea nor salt deposits nearby, one had to buy it from traveling salesmen. Ancient trade routes prove that salt has always been a valuable commodity and item for exchange. For that reason it was also called the white gold.

For our organism Salt is essential for survival. Therefore, the sense of taste reacts particularly strong to everything salty. Despite being a seasoning, salt is also useful for other purposes. For example, it is used as a component of natural care products. Even ancient rulers traveled to the Dead Sea because of the relaxing effect of bathing in salty water. The healing effect of salty air and of mineral-rich water is not fully explored yet. What is certain is the efficiency of a peeling salt. With its special crystalline structure it removes gently but effectively old, dead danders of the upper stratum corneum. Pores are freed and the skin can breathe again. After peeling, the skin feels fresher and livelier. Moreover, the blood circulation is stimulated by rubbing the skin. This is a welcome effect especially during sauna, because this makes one sweat stronger.

Peeling Salts of Bergland can be applied to wet skin in the shower or sauna. After massaging the peeling in, it is rinsed thoroughly. The effects on the skin of the three peeling salts are complemented by a stimulating fragrance. The Bergland Peeling Salt Ice Mint pampers the skin with almond and sunflower oil. The fresh minty fragrance is stimulating and provides new energy. If you prefer a more fruity scent you should try the Bergland Peeling Salt Orange. The orange fragrance lifts the mood and makes the peeling a pleasure, even if it "only" takes place under a shower. With a fresh spicy softwood scent the Bergland Peeling Salt Pinus Cembra rouses the spirits. While the salt cleanses the skin and the massaging stimulates the blood circulation, the essential oils ensure complacency. Whether you prefer Orange, Ice Mint or Pinus Cembra: Every Bergland Peeling Salt is certified and 100% natural. A good reason to go to the sauna again. Your skin will thank you.
