Baldini Room Scents

:

How to best describe wellbeing? In many ancient cultures, especially in the Far East, wellbeing always has been associated with harmony. This includes life in harmony with nature, a peaceful interaction with fellow human beings as well as balance between body and spirit. In order to preserve this balance, exercises were developed in India thousands of years ago that we nowadays know as yoga. In China, tai chi is still a national sport. Tai chi is one of the so-called inner martial arts. It is not about power in the first place, but rather about the flow of energy (chi). Similar to yoga, tai chi is practiced today as a meditative movement method throughout the world. The harmony in your own home is determined by scents and smells. Even if we do not consciously perceive smells, they immediately affect our mood. In contrast to other sensations, a fragrance is not interpreted in the cerebrum. In fact, it goes directly into the subconscious. Already in the early Bronze Age, one made sure that the fragrance in palaces and temples was always a pleasant one.

6,000 years before the invention of room sprays, rooms in Egypt or India were scented with incense made of resin or cedar. At the same time, the cultivation of aromatic medical plants began in the Orient from which essential oils were distilled. These oils were used to make ointments and fragrant bandages. The ancient Egyptians also used the scented oils to embalm their deceased pharaohs. In the 10th century, the water-steam distillation was optimized by the Persian physician and alchemist Ibn Sina. Thanks to the records of scholars like Ibn Sina, ancient knowledge about medical plants was rediscovered in the 21st century. In addition to the healing effects of herbal plants, doctors also noticed the positive influence that essential oils had on patients. Despite these experiences, for many centuries essential oils did not have the same value in Europe as in the Orient.

The fact that even in the Western World more and more people are interested in essential oils, today, is, above all, due to the chemist René-Maurice Gattefossé. In 1910, he suffered severe burns in an explosion in his laboratory. He then treated himself with lavender oil. To the astonishment of his doctors the skin healed quickly and without scarring. This experience encouraged Gattefossé to explore essential oils. He developed an antiseptic soap based on essential oils and published the book ”Aromatherapy“ in 1937. Aromatherapy today is understood as the targeted application of essential oils for the relief of discomfort and for the purpose of increasing wellbeing. The evaporating oil mixture is distributed almost unnoticeably in the room by a scent lamp, a fragrance stone or an aroma diffuser. The dosage can be so low that no scent is perceived. Subconsciously, however, it still has an effect on the mood.

If you want to create a positive atmosphere at home, you do not have to be an aromatherapist. The Room Scents of Baldini offer pleasant scent blends with natural essential oils. In the Baldini ‘Angel Fragrance’, grapefruit, tonka and lime form a heavenly, light fragrance unity that immediately transports you to other spheres: cosy and warm and fruity and fresh at the same time. The fruity room fragrance ‘Feelkraft’ with lemongrass and the invigoratingly fresh room fragrance ‘Feelfreude’ with lime are ideal for workspaces. If you prefer maritime fragrances, the ‘Feelmeer’ room fragrance with maritime pine, palmarosa and lemon will transport you to the sea. Five bamboo sticks are included in each of the decorative glass flacons to ensure that the natural fragrance spreads perfectly throughout the room. The more bamboo sticks are in the open bottle at the same time, the more intense the fragrance unfolds.
