Spielberger Organic Cchickpeas from Germany. With their aromatic, mild flavour, chickpeas are ideal for stews, salads, hummus or falafel. They are also used in numerous Asian dishes.
Basic recipe:
Soak 250 g chickpeas overnight (approx. 12 hours) in plenty of water. Drain the soaking water and rinse the chickpeas. Bring the chickpeas to the boil with 1.5 l fresh water and simmer for about 60 minutes (e.g. for salads), or 120 minutes (for hummus). Salt and drain off the remaining water at the end of the cooking time.
