Savon du Midi Karité Soap Geranium has a soft gentle scent. Like all other vegetable oil soaps from Savon du Midi, the Karité soaps are made by small soap manufacturers in Provence, France. The traditional expertise of the art of soap making, often passed down orally over generations, make this soap so special. Treat yourself to a piece of Provence.
The karité soap owes its name to the karité butter it contains, which is also known as shea butter. This is the vegetable fat obtained from the fruits of the karité tree (aka. shea tree). Because of its moisturizing qualities, shea butter has been used for skin care in Africa for centuries. The addition of shea butter (Butyrospermum Parkii Butter) makes soap softer and skin cleansing more gentle.
