The secret of Santaverde is aloe vera juice. In most cosmetic products, the list of ingredients begins with water, a neutral filler without any effect of its own. In the Santaverde formulations, however, water is replaced by pure aloe vera juice. Aloe Barbadensis Miller has been regarded for centuries as one of the most effective healing plants in nature. The fresh leaf gel contains valuable nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, enzymes and amino acids. Its moisture-retaining gel is known for effectively regenerating sensitive, irritated and stressed skin. The precious juice, freshly obtained from the inside of the aloe vera leaf, is further enriched with selected plant oils and plant extracts. The result is highly effective skincare products that give the skin exactly what it needs. Santaverde’s organic aloe vera plants grow under the Andalusian sun in vibrant, nutrient-rich soil on the company’s own finca near Estepona. The unique climate, with hot summers and cool winters, specifically promotes the formation of vital nutrients. Harvesting is done exclusively by hand – and only when each leaf has reached full maturity. In 1986, Santaverde founder Sabine Beer experienced the impressive effect of aloe vera for the first time on a small finca in Andalusia. A local gave her a freshly cut aloe leaf from his garden to help relieve her skin problems. She hesitantly applied the gel from inside the leaf on a regular basis and was amazed at how quickly her skin improved. Sabine Beer began to research and develop her own formulations. This is how, more than 30 years ago, the Santaverde brand was born – today counted among the pioneers of certified natural cosmetics.
