Rii Jii Indian Organic Basmati Rice. The traditional organic basmati rice from the Indian organic cooperatives Ramnagar and Nampara is an organic gourmet rice that is characterized by an intensely nutty taste. The rice is grown at an altitude of 1000 m on nutrient-rich soil at the foot of the Himalayas and goes well with many Asian dishes.
Preparation
- Wash the rice twice before cooking.
- The rice to water ratio is 1:1.5 (1 cup of rice for 1.5 vcups of water).
- Add a pinch of salt and a dash of cooking oil to the pan. Then bring to the boil and simmer for 2 minutes.
- Then set the temperature to low and let the rice swell for 10 - 15 minutes with the lid closed.
- When the rice is cooked, stir in a small piece of butter and add salt. Preferably sea salt or fleur de sel.
