The power of volatile plant compounds from leaves, flowers, peels and roots
The Recreation range brings together products for little breaks from everyday life. Naturally pure essential oils are at the heart of classic aromatherapy. Fragrance Blends made from plant essences can influence moods and evoke memories. The ancient tradition of incense burning forms the basis of spiritual applications in many cultures. Infusions with plant essences enhance the sauna experience and support its positive effects.
At Violey, you’ll find naturally pure essential oils, a wide variety of Fragrance Blends, pleasant room fragrances and decorative aroma lamps, as well as incense, sauna products and comfort cushions. True well-being comes from within. And Violey is here to support you on your journey. No advertising cookies, no personalised tracking.
How should essential oils be used correctly?
Essential oils are highly concentrated and should never be applied to the skin undiluted. For topical use, they must be mixed with a vegetable carrier oil such as almond oil or jojoba oil. A few drops per tablespoon of carrier oil are usually sufficient. For room fragrancing, a few drops can be added to an aroma lamp, diffuser, fragrance fountain or aroma stone. Pure essential oils are not cosmetics intended for direct application, but raw materials.
Which scents are perceived as pleasant?
This varies from person to person and depends heavily on personal preferences. Essential oils and blends of essential oils act directly on the nervous system via the sense of smell. Every scent can activate an area of the brain associated with a particular feeling or memory. For this reason, it is understandable that identical scents can trigger completely different reactions in different people. Generally speaking, the scents of lavender, orange, sandalwood or vanilla are often found to be particularly pleasant. Scents are a very personal matter. It is best to try out various pure essential oils and Fragrance Blends before making a decision.
Tip: Caution with essential oils in the home and during pregnancy
Some essential oils are not suitable in certain situations, for example during pregnancy, around young children or in households with cats, as some oils may not be well tolerated by them. If one of these situations applies to you, read up on their safe use before application or seek professional advice. If in doubt, remember: less is more.
What is recommended for a soothing bath?
Plant-based bath oils and bath additives containing natural oils give off a pleasant scent. Natural cosmetic bath additives contain mild, plant-based surfactants, natural plant oils and fragrant plant essences. Natural bath additives differ significantly in their composition from traditional bubble baths containing synthetic surfactants. When bathing in warm water, the outer layer of the skin swells. This leads to the familiar ‘wrinkled skin’ effect, but also washes away the skin’s natural oils. To protect the skin’s natural barrier, it should therefore only be gently patted dry after bathing, rather than rubbed. After bathing, the skin is particularly receptive. It will thank you for the support provided by a cream or lotion.
What is the difference between natural and nature-identical fragrance oils?
Natural essential oils are obtained directly from plants, for example through steam distillation. Nature-identical oils are recreated in a laboratory and are chemically identical to their natural counterparts, but they are not of plant origin. In natural cosmetics, natural essential oils are usually preferred. It is therefore worth checking both the product description and the ingredients. The term “fragrance oil” alone does not indicate anything about its quality or origin.
