: Review date:The texture of this bread is harder than the other Spécial Matin varieties, more biscuit-like or even rusk-like. The taste also reminds me a bit of rusk. It's slightly sweet but less than I expected (the thin flower bread chestnut, for example, is quite sweet). When eaten, the Spécial Matin chestnut bread becomes very slightly sticky. It crumbles little, breaking rather when bitten off. It goes well with cream cheese and quark. It is packed in two sub-packages of 115 g each with 16 slices. Personally, I like it rather salty, so the chestnut variety is a bit too mild for me. The advantage, however, is that this bread goes with everything, sweet and salty, and also goes on its own.
Die Konsistenz dieses Brotes ist härter als die anderen Spécial Matin Sorten, eher etwas keksartig oder auch wie Zwieback. Auch der Geschmack erinnert mich ein bisschen an Zwieback. Es ist leicht süß aber weniger als gedacht (das dünne Blumenbrot Kastanie z.B. ist ziemlich süß). Beim Essen wird das Spécial Matin Kastanienbrot ganz leicht klebrig. Es krümeln wenig, zerbricht eher beim Abbeißen. Harmoniert gut mit Frischkäse und Quark. Verpackt ist es in zwei Unterverpackungen à 115 g mit jeweils 16 Scheiben. Ich persönlich mag es eher salzig, also ist die Sorte Kastanie mir etwas zu mild. Der Vorteil dabei ist aber, dass dieses Brot zu allem passt, zu süßen und zu salzigem, und auch pur geht.
