For mixing, you will need hot water, a thermometer, a spoon, a bowl and a whisk. For applying, you will need a brush and/or comb, hair clips, gloves and hood (included in the package), a dyeing brush and a towel to protect your clothes.
1. Preparation: Wash your hair with a natural shampoo. Put the Khadi powder in a bowl: 100 g for a complete dye, 50 g for a hairline dye. Heat water according to your chosen hair color (refer to Khadi application chart). Pour some water into the powder and stir well until the texture is creamy. Place the dye into a warm water bath to maintain the temperature.
2. Applying the hair color: With the brush (for hairline coloration): Seperate your hair, as described in the tutorial on khadi.de and apply the dye with the brush. When dyeing, just brush the areas to be colored.
Without a brush (for a complete dye): If you prefer to apply the dye without a brush, simply distribute the entire amount of color over your head with your hands. Best to do this upside down over the bathtub - the main thing is that you reach all the areas you want to dye and that you throughly massage the color into your hair.
3. Allow the color to take effect: Depending on the desired color intensity, leave in to take effect for 30 to 120 minutes (refer to Khadi application table). No matter how long you want to leave your natural hair color in to take effect, it is completely safe and cares for your hair and skin.
4. Rinse: Rinse the color out of the hair with warm water. Do not use shampoo or conditioning products for 24 to 48 hours to allow optimal developement of the color pigments. If you would like to avoid reddish reflexes, do not apply too much heat when drying.
5. Fixing the color: Prior the first hair wash, treat your new hair color with a Khadi Hair Oil. Use 6-10 drops and let it work its magic for at least 30 minutes or overnight.
Individual shade: There are no limits to your creativity: you can mix all Khadi color nuances together to get more personalized results or to simply achieve your favorite tone. If you're not sure about whether you like a particular nuance, trial the color on a single streak first.
Pre-color treatment: Khadi Natural Hair Colors cover each hair like a nourishing glaze and envelop them with brilliant color. To ensure that the color pigments adhere to your hair, the manufacturer recommends that you do without any silicones and film-forming agents and remove any styling residues before coloring. Silicones and other film-forming agents are synthetic substances that wrap around the hair like a layer of plastic which makes Natural Hair Color slide off. The manufacturer recommends: Khadi Shampoos, Hair Washing Powder and Hair Masks for an optimal result.
Gray coverage: Khadi Natural Hair Color effectively covers white and gray hair. For only a smal amount of gray or white hair, simply use your desired hair color. With a larger proportion, you can achieve good results with a two-step coloring process.
Two-step coloring process: The Khadi two-step coloring process is helpful if you want a good gray hair coverage or if you want to dye very light hair to dark hair. It's really easy: first you create a golden or reddish shade which serves as a pre-pigmentation, then you tone your hair into your dream color. Both steps of this two-step coloring process can be done on the same day, directly one after the other.
Greenish tone: In rare cases, greenish reflections can appear after coloring: when this happens, just rinse again with warm water and blow dry. Alternatively, you can apply a Henna Rinse: Mix 1 tbsp henna with 300 ml of water and pour it over the hair. Let the mixture take effect for a few minutes and rinse with warm water. Repeat this process until you are satisfied.
Chemically dyed or bleached hair: Synthetic hair colors, bleaches or a perm involve chemical substances that take effect inside the hair shaft, leaving the structure of the hair damaged. If a plant hair color is applied shortly after such a treatment, it can lead to undesirable color results. Khadi therefore recommends that you wait for at least 10 hair washes before applying the dye and that you prepare your hair well for the color. Conversely the manufacturer recommends not to bleach plant dyed hair, since it can lead to undesirable color results.

: Review date:Unfortunately, I didn't notice much of a rich, chocolaty brown colour. In my case, it was more of a dull brown colour without any warm shimmer. The colour also took almost a week for the dull, slightly greenish tint to disappear.
That's why the next time I mixed the powder 50:50 with Khadi Plant Hair Colour Henna, Amla and Jatropha, which gave a great, warm red-brown tone right from the start. I can highly recommend this mixture.
You generally have to make sure that your hair is not too damp when applying it, as the colour tends to run after a while. But then it lasts a very long time and also reliably covers grey hair.
Von einem satten, schokoladigen Braunton habe ich leider nicht viel bemerkt. Bei mir war es eher ein stumpfes Braun ohne jeden warmen Schimmer. Die Farbe hat auch fast eine Woche gebraucht, bis der stumpfe, leicht grünliche Farbstich verschwunden war.
Deshalb habe ich beim nächsten Mal das Pulver 50:50 mit Khadi Pflanzenhaarfarbe Henna, Amla und Jatropha gemischt, was gleich von Beginn an einen tollen, warmen Rot-Braun-Ton ergab. Diese Mischung kann ich sehr empfehlen.
Man muss generell beim Auftragen darauf achten, dass die Haare nicht zu feucht sind, da die Farbe nach einiger Zeit zum Laufen tendiert. Aber dann hält sie sehr lange und deckt auch zuverlässig graue Haare ab.

I have been using Khadi Nut Brown every 8-10 weeks for about 3 years (I don't feel like doing the procedure more often, even though the roots turn grey again after about 6 weeks), always leave the colour to work in for 3 hours and I am highly satisfied. The prerequisite is, of course, that you only use silicone-free, chemical-free shampoo. The hair has an unbelievably great, natural-looking shade, whereby all the grey hairs at the hairline plus a few strands at the sides are completely covered and shimmer golden on me. This combination of nut brown (which only has a hint of red shimmer in the sun) with gold looks very nice. My hair has also improved since the colouring with this natural energy and gets greasy much slower than before. About a year ago, the formula was probably changed, because since then the former very strong algae smell is pleasantly discreet. The hair only smells a little strange when it is freshly dyed and gets wet in the rain, which I avoid as much as possible. After the second wash, it's fine again. But I am happy to put up with this small disadvantage.
Meine Naturhaarfarbe ist ein helles Braun inkl. grauer Anteile. Ich verwende Khadi Nussbraun seit ca. 3 Jahren alle 8-10 Wochen (öfter habe ich keine Lust auf die Prozedur, auch wenn die Ansätze nach ca. 6 Wochen wieder grau werden), lasse die Farbe immer 3 Std. einwirken und bin höchst zufrieden. Voraussetzung ist natürlich, daß man nur silikonfreies, chemiefreies Shampoo verwendet. Die Haare haben einen unglaublich tollen, natürlich wirkenden Farbton, wobei alle grauen Haare am Haaransatz plus einige Strähnen seitlich vollständig abgedeckt werden und bei mir golden schimmern. Diese Kombination von Nussbraun (das nur in der Sonne einen Hauch von Rotschimmer hat) mit Gold sieht sehr schön aus. Meine Haare sind seit den Färbungen mit dieser Naturenergie auch besser geworden und werden viel langsamer fettig als früher. Vor ca. einem Jahr wurde wohl die Rezeptur verändert, denn seitdem ist der frühere sehr starke Algengeruch angenehm dezent. Die Haare riechen nur noch etwas seltsam, wenn sie frisch gefärbt bei Regen naß werden, was ich daher möglichst vermeide. Nach der zweiten Haarwäsche gehts dann wieder. Aber diesen kleinen Nachteil nehme ich gerne in Kauf.

: Review date:because i already have a lot of grey hair, i did a lot of research on perfect grey coverage and care. this shade seems to be one of the few that are successful the first time (without pre-dyeing with other henna colours etc...), i don't have the patience for that). hazel is also very close to my hair colour. i haven't dyed chemically for a few weeks now to avoid any unpleasant side effects. i was a bit grey then ;) because i only wash my hair with rye flour or olive soap, it wasn't loaded with silicone. but to be on the safe side (olive oil has a greasing effect on the hair, rye flour sometimes leaves residues - i.e. flour particles) i used a silicone-free shampoo. i estimated the 50 degree water temperature by finger. i have a thermometer somewhere, but haven't used it for a long time, i was too lazy to look for it. mixed it, wonderful henna scent (i just like it, certainly not for everyone). kept the mixture warm in a water bath, let it soak for two hours... all grey hairs are now light nut-brown. pleasant shades. the hair feels great, shiny. if, as described in the package insert, the hair colour changes to darker within the next 48 hours, it doesn't matter. perfect. i was a bit afraid of a green tinge on the grey parts. my temperature estimation was obviously right.
because my hair is only chin-length, there is plenty left over to re-dye the roots 2-3 times. soooo much more pleasant than chemical dyeing. i'm thrilled.
weil ich mittlerweile doch bereits sehr viele graue haare habe, recherchierte ich ziemlich lang in bezug auf perfekte grauabdeckung und pflege. dieser farbton scheint einer der wenigen zu sein, du gleich aufs erste mal erfolgreich sind (ohne mit anderen hennafarben vorzufärben etc., für sowas fehlt mir die geduld). nussbraun kommt meiner haarfarbe darüberhinaus noch sehr nahe. hab jetzt einige wochen nicht chemisch gefärbt, um unliebsame nebeneffekte zu verhindern. bissi grau war ich dann schon ;) weil ich meine haare nur mit roggenmehl oder olivenseife wasche, waren sie nicht silikonbelastet. hab aber sicherheitshalber (olivenöl hat nen rückfettenden effekt auf die haare, roggenmehl manchmal rückstände - also mehlpartikel) ein silikonfreies shampoo benutzt. die 50 grad wassertemperatur zum anrühren habe per finger geschätzt. hab zwar irgendwo ein thermometer, lang nicht benutzt, war zu faul zum suchen. angerührt, wunderbarer hennaduft (ich mags halt, sicher nix für jeden). den brei im wasserbad warmgehalten, zwei stunden einwirken lassen... alle grauen haare sind jetzt hell-nuss-braun. angenehme schattierungen. die haare fühlen sich super an, glänzen. falls sich, wie im beipackzettel beschrieben, die haarfarbe innerhalb der nächsten 48 stunden noch ins dunkle verändert, macht das nix. perfekt. hatte ja schon bisserl angst vor grünstich auf den grauen partien. meine temperatureinschätzung hat offenbar gepasst.
weil meine haare nur kinnlang sind, ist reichlich übrig geblieben, um den ansatz 2-3mal nachzufärben. sooooviel angenehmer als chemische färbung. bin begeistert.

Am besten mit Henna vorfärben, dann mit Nussbraun nachfärben - oder mischen. Ergibt je nach Grundfarbe der Haare einen wirklich schönen, warmen Kastanien Farbton, NICHT aubergine ;-).

Für mich ist Khadi die mit Abstand beste Pflanzenhaarfarbe. Habe meine Haare früher immer mit Chemie gefärbt, bis die Struktur so angegriffen war, dass ich etwas ändern musste. Da ich mich mit meinen grauen Haaren immer noch nicht angefreundet hatte, habe ich es mit verschiedenen Pflanzenhaarfarben versucht. Aber Khadi ist und bleibt das beste Produkt. For dark brown hair, I would definitely choose this shade (nut brown), as it is much darker than the name nut brown would suggest. I usually use the colour creams from Logona, but I find the colour from Khadi better because my scalp tolerates it better and the result is more intense.

Ich färbe schon seit längerem mit Pflanzenhaarfarbe, weil ich die herkömmlichen Chemieprodukte nicht gut vertrage. Dabei bin ich bereits seit Jahren sehr zufrieden mit der Haarfarbe von Khadi. Die Deckkraft ist hervorragend, selbst nach kürzerer Einwirkzeit erhalten die Haare eine intensive Tönung. Die Farbe ist langanhaltend und die Haare erhalten Struktur und Volumen. I have used other natural cosmetic henna varieties for years and let them work in for 4-6 hours, but the colour was always washed out again quickly. Because of the many positive reviews, I have now tried Khadi Nut Brown and after only 1 hour, it has a totally intense and even colour and the hair is not shaggy and dried out, as with other henna types. I'm curious to see how long the colour lasts...

Habe jahrelang andere Naturkosmetik-Hennasorten verwendet und am Ende schon 4-6 Stunden einwirken lassen, doch die Farbe war stets schnell wieder herausgewaschen. Wegen der vielen positiven Bewertungen habe ich nun Khadi Nussbraun ausprobiert und das hat nach nur 1 Stunde total intensiv und gleichmäßig getönt und das Haar ist nicht struppig-ausgetrocknet, wie bei anderen Hennasorten. First because my scalp itched after the chemical tinting/colouring and now out of principle :-) And I am very happy about it. In the beginning I went to a natural hairdresser, but now I do it myself because of the high prices. The Khadi colours are great and cover very well (even the first grey hairs), better than the Logona colours. Initially, based on a previous review, I also mixed nut brown and dark brown, which was nice. Now I have switched completely to dark brown. This also works flawlessly, with no green or red cast. Even my slightly lighter natural hair extensions immediately accepted the colour perfectly.
Ich bin inzwischen vor über eineinhalb Jahren auf Pflanzenhaarfarbe umgestiegen. Zuerst weil mir nach der chemischen Tönung/Färbung die Kopfhaut juckte und mittlerweile aus Prinzip :-) Und ich bin sehr froh darüber. Anfangs war ich beim Naturfrisör, wegen der hohen Preise aber jetzt mit "Do-It-Yourself". Die Farben von Khadi sind klasse und decken sehr gut (auch die ersten grauen Haare), besser als die Farben von Logona. Anfangs habe ich aufgrund einer vorherigen Bewertung auch nussbraun und dunkelbraun gemischt, was schön war. Nun bin ich ganz auf dunkelbraun umgestiegen. : Review date:this is a best-of. i wonder why i tried for so long to cover my first greys with Logona & co.... since i use khadi i look forward to dyeing every time. Nut brown is much warmer in relation to dark brown, however I like to mix it to have a richer brown tone overall. After pre-colouring with henna, however, nut brown is unbeatable. a beautiful, warm brown that glows a little differently in every light. The hair is well-groomed, shiny and very manageable after each colouring. I have very long hair and for the first time I have the feeling that even the "old lengths" look as healthy as the young ones. This was not possible with any mousse (fortunately, I have never dyed chemically anyway).
das ist eine Best-Of. ich frage mich, warum ich so lange mit Logona & Co. versucht habe, meine ersten grauen abzudecken... seit ich khadi verwende, freue ich mich jedes Mal aufs Färben. Nussbraun ist im Verhältnis zum Dunkelbraun deutlich wärmer, jedoch mische ich es gerne, um den Braunton insgesamt satter zu haben. Nach der Vorfärbung mit Henna ist Nussbraun jedoch unschlagbar. ein wunderschönes, warmes Braun, das in jedem Licht etwas anders leuchtet. Die Haare sind nach jeder Färbung gepflegt, glänzen und sehr griffig. Ich habe sehr lange Haare und zum ersten Mal das Gefühl, dass auch die "alten Längen" so gesund wie die jungen wirken. Das war mit keiner Schaumtönung hinzukriegen (richtig chemisch gefärbt habe ich zum Glück eh nie)
