Application:
For mixing, you will need hot water, a thermometer, a spoon, a bowl and a whisk. For applying, you will need a brush and/or comb, hair clips, gloves and hood (included in the package), a dyeing brush and a towel to protect your clothes.
1. Preparation: Wash your hair with a natural shampoo. Put the Khadi powder in a bowl: 100 g for a complete dye, 50 g for a hairline dye. Heat water according to your chosen hair color (refer to Khadi application chart). Pour some water into the powder and stir well until the texture is creamy. Place the dye into a warm water bath to maintain the temperature.
2. Applying the hair color: With the brush (for hairline coloration): Seperate your hair, as described in the tutorial on khadi.de and apply the dye with the brush. When dyeing, just brush the areas to be colored.
Without a brush (for a complete dye): If you prefer to apply the dye without a brush, simply distribute the entire amount of color over your head with your hands. Best to do this upside down over the bathtub - the main thing is that you reach all the areas you want to dye and that you throughly massage the color into your hair.
3. Allow the color to take effect: Depending on the desired color intensity, leave in to take effect for 30 to 120 minutes (refer to Khadi application table). No matter how long you want to leave your natural hair color in to take effect, it is completely safe and cares for your hair and skin.
4. Rinse: Rinse the color out of the hair with warm water. Do not use shampoo or conditioning products for 24 to 48 hours to allow optimal developement of the color pigments. If you would like to avoid reddish reflexes, do not apply too much heat when drying.
5. Fixing the color: Prior the first hair wash, treat your new hair color with a Khadi Hair Oil. Use 6-10 drops and let it work its magic for at least 30 minutes or overnight.
Individual shade: There are no limits to your creativity: you can mix all Khadi color nuances together to get more personalized results or to simply achieve your favorite tone. If you're not sure about whether you like a particular nuance, trial the color on a single streak first.
Pre-color treatment: Khadi Natural Hair Colors cover each hair like a nourishing glaze and envelop them with brilliant color. To ensure that the color pigments adhere to your hair, the manufacturer recommends that you do without any silicones and film-forming agents and remove any styling residues before coloring. Silicones and other film-forming agents are synthetic substances that wrap around the hair like a layer of plastic which makes Natural Hair Color slide off. The manufacturer recommends: Khadi Shampoos, Hair Washing Powder and Hair Masks for an optimal result.
Gray coverage: Khadi Natural Hair Color effectively covers white and gray hair. For only a smal amount of gray or white hair, simply use your desired hair color. With a larger proportion, you can achieve good results with a two-step coloring process.
Two-step coloring process: The Khadi two-step coloring process is helpful if you want a good gray hair coverage or if you want to dye very light hair to dark hair. It's really easy: first you create a golden or reddish shade which serves as a pre-pigmentation, then you tone your hair into your dream color. Both steps of this two-step coloring process can be done on the same day, directly one after the other.
Greenish tone: In rare cases, greenish reflections can appear after coloring: when this happens, just rinse again with warm water and blow dry. Alternatively, you can apply a Henna Rinse: Mix 1 tbsp henna with 300 ml of water and pour it over the hair. Let the mixture take effect for a few minutes and rinse with warm water. Repeat this process until you are satisfied.
Chemically dyed or bleached hair: Synthetic hair colors, bleaches or a perm involve chemical substances that take effect inside the hair shaft, leaving the structure of the hair damaged. If a plant hair color is applied shortly after such a treatment, it can lead to undesirable color results. Khadi therefore recommends that you wait for at least 10 hair washes before applying the dye and that you prepare your hair well for the color. Conversely the manufacturer recommends not to bleach plant dyed hair, since it can lead to undesirable color results.

: Review date:In my experience, Khadi plant dyes are the best among the more or less genuine natural dyes. For grey hair, you first dye with henna, amla and jatropha and then you can conjure up the tones on your hair that you just like with a desired mixture. The result always looks natural and lasts 1-2 months. I have been using it for decades and have never been disappointed, the work is worth it, the hair is not attacked, the colours just coat it.

On the recommendation of a friend, I came across the Khadi plant hair colour and was amazed by the intense shade. The durability is also worth mentioning, because no hair colour has lasted as long as the one from the manufacturer. The application is very easy. It does not differ much from conventional colours. That's why I didn't have any problems adjusting during the first application. I was surprised at how long the colour lasted. I only had to re-colour after six weeks. No colour has ever lasted that long.
Seit vielen Jahren färbe ich meine Haare. Meistens nehme ich einen Rotton. Auf Empfehlung einer Freundin kam ich auf die Khadi Pflanzenhaarfarbe und war verblüfft von dem intensiven Farbton. Auch die Haltbarkeit ist eine Erwähnung wert, denn bei mir hielt keine Haarfarbe so lange wie die von dem Hersteller. Die Anwendung ist ganz einfach. Sie unterscheidet sich nicht groß von herkömmlichen Farben. Deswegen gab es bei der ersten Anwendung für mich keine Umstellungsschwierigkeiten. Überrascht hat mich die lange Haltbarkeit des Farbtons. Erst nach sechs Wochen musste ich wieder nachfärben. Solange hielt bei mir noch keine Farbe.

: Review date:I have been using vegetable hair colour for many years - Khadi's was the best so far in terms of application. Although I could not detect any difference in the smell and colour of the powder compared to the other vegetable hair colours, the mixed paste (I use strong black tea instead of pure water) had a pleasant gel-like consistency and could be applied wonderfully. No crumbling or extreme blotting! As I wasn't sure how the red shade would look on me, I mixed in a third of light brown from Khadi. After washing out the colour paste with ONLY clear water, there was no problem at all combing my half-length hair. I am very happy with the colour result. After shampooing after 24 hours (manufacturer's recommendation), there was very little colour bleed, I have experienced more extreme with other brands! When I pressed a white paper napkin into towel-dried hair, it also stayed white. Hoping that future applications will be just as great, I can say I have finally found MY colour! :-)
Ich nutze seit vielen Jahren Pflanzenhaarfarbe-die von Khadi war die bis jetzt beste im Bereich Anwendung. Obwohl ich bei Geruch und Farbe des Pulvers keinen Unterschied zu den anderen Pflanzenhaarfarben feststellen konnte, war der angerührte Brei (ich nehme starken schwarzen Tee dazu, statt puren Wassers), von angenehmer gelartiger Konsistenz und ließ sich wunderbar auftragen. Kein Krümeln und extremes Kleckern! Da ich nicht sicher war, wie der Rotton bei mir aussehen wird, habe ich noch ein Drittel Hellbraun von Khadi untergemischt. Nach dem Auswaschen des Farbbreis mit NUR klarem Wasser, gab es überhaupt kein Problem beim Kämmen meines halblangen Haares. Mit dem Farbergebnis bin ich sehr zufrieden. Nach dem Shampoonieren nach 24 Stunden (Empfehlung des Herstellers) war das Auslaufen der Farbe äußerst gering, da habe ich mit anderen Marken Extremeres erlebt! Als ich mit einer weißen Papierserviette in das handtuchtrockene Haar drückte, blieb diese auch weiß. In der Hoffnung, dass die zukünftigen Anwendungen genau so prima verlaufen, kann ich sagen, ich habe MEINE Farbe nun endlich gefunden! :-)
