For mixing you will need hot water, a thermometer, a spoon, a bowl, a whisk and for application a brush and/or comb, hair clips, gloves and cap (included in the pack), a colouring brush and a towel to protect your clothes.
1. preparation: Wash your hair with a natural cosmetic shampoo. Put the Khadi plant colour powder in a bowl: 100 g for a complete colouring, 50 g for a base colouring. Heat the water according to your chosen hair colour (see Khadi application chart). Pour only water into the powder and stir very well until you get a creamy consistency. Place the colour in a warm water bath to maintain the temperature.
Tip: You can find suitable additives for your colour at khadi.de!
2. Apply colour: With a brush (for root colouring): Part your hair as described in the tutorial on khadi.co.uk and apply the colour with the brush to the cleansed, towel-dried hair. When colouring the roots, simply brush in only the areas to be re-coloured.
Without a brush (for complete colouring): If you prefer to work without a brush, simply spread the colour on your head with your hands. Preferably upside down over the bathtub - the main thing is that you reach all the areas you want to colour and knead the colour in very well.
3. Leave the colour on: Depending on the colour intensity, leave on for 30 to 120 minutes (see Khadi application chart). No matter how long you want to leave your plant hair colour on, it is completely safe and cares for your hair and skin.
4. Rinse out colour: Rinse the colour out of your hair with warm water. Do not use any shampoo or care products for 24 to 48 hours to allow the colour pigments to develop optimally. Do not dry your hair too hot if you do not want to get reddish reflections.
5. fix colour: Fix your new hair colour with a Khadi hair oil before washing your hair for the first time. Use 6 to 10 drops and leave it on for at least 30 minutes or overnight.
Individual colour shade: You can mix all Khadi shades with each other to get more individual results or simply your favourite shade. Every hair is different - which is why the results of natural hair colours are also very individual. Therefore, dye a sample strand first to test your desired colour. To do this, mix about a teaspoon of plant hair colour and proceed as described above.
Pre-treatment: Khadi plant hair dyes coat each individual hair like a nourishing glaze and envelop it in brilliant colour. To ensure that the colour pigments adhere to your hair, it is recommended that you avoid products with silicones and film formers and remove any residue from styling products before colouring. Silicones and other film formers are synthetic substances that wrap around the hair like a layer of plastic. The plant hair colour simply slides off this layer. Khadi shampoos, hair washing powders and hair masks are recommended for optimum results.
Grey hair coverage: Khadi plant hair colour effectively covers white and grey hair. For a small amount of grey or white, simply dye in your desired colour. For a larger proportion, you can achieve good results with two-step colouring.
Two-step dyeing: Khadi two-step dyeing is helpful if you want good grey hair coverage or if you want to dye very light hair dark. It works very simply: first a golden or reddish shade as a pre-pigmentation and then colour your desired shade. The two steps of the two-step colouring process can be carried out one after the other on the same day.
Green tinge: In rare cases, greenish reflections may occur after colouring. In this case, you can rinse your hair again warm and blow-dry it warm. Alternatively, you can rinse with a henna rinse: Mix 1 tbsp of Khadi Pure Henna with 300 ml of water and pour this rinse over your hair. Leave the mixture on for a few minutes and then rinse it out with warm water. Repeat this until you are satisfied.
Chemically coloured or bleached hair: Synthetic hair dyes, bleaching or a perm work with chemical substances inside the hair and leave a damaged hair structure. If a plant-based hair colour is applied shortly after such a treatment, this can lead to undesirable colour results. It is therefore recommended that you allow at least 10 washes to prepare your hair well for colouring. Conversely, the manufacturer advises against bleaching plant-dyed hair, as this can lead to undesirable colour results.
