Those who like beer will probably love this honey. However, one must abandon the idea that "honey = sweet". Sweet chestnut honey is a strong, spicy honey that trumps the somewhat similar-tasting forest honey. But it is easy to spread and does not run off the bread onto the hand.

Wer Bier mag, wird diesen Honig wahrscheinlich lieben. Von der Überlegung "Honig = Süß" muss man sich allerdings trennen. Der Edelkastanienhonig ist ein kräftig würziger Honig, der den doch ein bisschen geschmacksverwanden Waldhonig noch übertrumpft. Aber er lässt sich gut streichen und läuft nicht gleich vom Brot auf die Hand.

And once you have tasted this honey for the first time on a sturdy slice of grain bread, you will have a hard time with the other varieties.

Ein sehr eigenwilliges und ausgeprägtes Aroma erwartet hier den Gaumen. Anfangs ungewöhnlich, wenn man den milden Geschmack von Waldhonig gewohnt ist, aber mit der Zeit lernt man den Kastanienhonig lieben. Und wenn man das erste Mal diesen Honig auf einer kräftigen Scheibe Körnerbrot probiert hat, tut man sich schwer mit den anderen Sorten.
