Step 1: Ensure that the work surface is smooth and clean. It is recommended to lay out baking paper as a base. This prevents the compound from sticking to the surface and protects your furniture from residue. Wash and dry your hands before using the product to avoid staining the modelling clay.

Step 2: Take out the modelling clay and knead it thoroughly for at least 5 minutes so that a homogeneous mass is formed to prevent cracks or breaking of the mass after drying. Take special care that no air bubbles form.

Step 3: Place the mixture in the centre of the punch and press it into the mould with your hands. Smooth everything out with the enclosed roller to a slab about 0.8 cm thick. The mass should end up the same height as the cutter. If the enclosed roller is too small for you, you can use your own (e.g. dough roller).
Tip: To prevent the dough from sticking to the roller, it is recommended to dust the roller with a little flour or starch. For a clean edge of the impression, it is recommended that you carefully release the cutter from the mass. Punch the mass again cleanly with the cutter and then place the cutter back around the impression mass.

Step 4: Wash and dry your baby's hands or feet. Then press your baby's hand/foot into the prepared modelling clay until an impression is made. If you are not satisfied with the result, you can repeat the process from step 2.
Please note: The impression must not be too deep so that the clay does not break after drying, but also not too shallow so that you can easily see the impression. A depth of approx. 4 mm is ideal. The punch should be placed around the impression compound for the impression so that the mould does not warp.

Step 5: If necessary, don't forget to poke a hole in the top of the modelling clay. This is where the ribbons can be attached for hanging once dry. Note that the hole must not be too close to the edge to prevent the mass from breaking. Keep a minimum distance of 8 mm to the edge. Now carefully detach the punch from the mould.
Tip: Use a pencil of the desired thickness for the hole or the enclosed wooden roller for a clean and even result.

Step 6: Allow the print to air dry for at least 24 hours. Then turn the impression over and let the other side dry for at least 24 hours. The impression can now be carefully processed. Please note that the impression needs up to one week for optimal hardening of the mass. During this time the compound hardens completely. The drying time depends on the room temperature and humidity and may therefore vary. Place the mass on a piece of kitchen paper to dry. Baking paper prevents the mass from drying out optimally. Do not touch the mass during this time to prevent deformation. Do not use the oven for drying, as the mass may crack. Do not accelerate the drying process by heating, as this can also lead to cracks. Do not leave the mass on one side during the entire drying process, as this can cause the sides of the print to lift, which leads to an unattractive result.
Tip: If the hole for the suspension is not punched out cleanly, touch it up with the wooden roller or pen after the first 24 hours of drying time.

Step 7: Attach one of the ribbons to the hardened print and hang it up. Done!

Additional Information:

Proper storage of the impression material ensures a long service life. It is recommended to pack the compound airtight after opening and to use it as soon as possible.
