Application:

A candle is a living light. Just as an open fire it needs to be observed and maintained. Thick candles especially need to burn long enough so that the surface becomes completely fluid. Avoid draughts. They result in sooting, dripping and uneven burning. The best wick length is 10 to 15 mm. A longer wick may soot. If necessary shorten the wick with sciccors. If the candle burns uneven, the burning wick may be bend gently to one side. Never break or bend a cooled, hardened wick. If the rim remains too high cut it please it a hot state. By dipping the wick in the liquid wax in order to extinguish and put it upright immediately afterwards, it is not smoldering and is easier to relight again.
