Defu Snacks for dogs and cats
In Germany there are about 30 million pets. Statistically speaking, there is an animal roommate in 3 out of 4 households. Cats and dogs are still the most popular and together make up more than two-thirds of the total number of pets. Whether the coexistence of human beings and animals becomes harmonious or strenuous depends primarily on education. Housebreaking puppies or kittens is the first challenge. Thereafter, the quadruped must learn that certain areas of the home, e.g. the dining table are taboo for them. How many commands are trained thereafter depends on the endurance of the owner. Just like with small children, the education of dogs and cats requires a lot of patience.
Many dog owners complain that their four-legged friend does not want to learn anything other than "sit" and "down". On the other hand there are also true "dog whisperers" who teach their dogs to shut the door behind them or get beer from the basement. The successful education, however, does not have so much to do with the talent of the dog or of the master and mistress. The method is decisive. No long-term success can be achieved by shouting and punishing. Instead successful dog trainers recommend to make use of the play instict of the dog. A particularly successful method is the so-called clicker-training from the USA, in which positive behavior is encouraged. The clicker is a small device, which produces a short click when being pushed. Every time the dog has done something right, the clicker is pressed. Afterwards the dog gets a treat. The behavior of a dog is primarily determined by its consequences. If a dog receives a reward for a certain behavior, it will repeat it. Soon the dog will associate the click with a reward. Even if a snack isn't given every time later on, the click is interpreted as praise or reward. In this way one can condition the dog so that it wants to execute certain commands voluntarily. It is best to practice in short sessions of 5-10 minutes to avoid boredom in humans and animals.
Basically clicker training is also suitable for cats. However, for the education of the moggy one must have more patience. Dogs have been trained by humans to perform certain tasks for thousands of years. Cats, on the other hand, were only expected to catch the mice in the granary for a long time. Their hunting instinct is still very strong and unlike dogs, they show no separation anxiety. Because they are much less dependent on people, they can also be very wayward. To teach cats something they do not like is almost impossible. So one should not do a training unit when the cat has just retreated and wants to be left alone. In practice, timing is particularly important because positive behavior must be rewarded immediately. Ideally are the cat's favorite treats, e.g. the Defu Snacks in certified organic quality.
While the Defu Cat Snack consists of organic beef, the Defu Dog Snack is prepared from organic poultry meat. The crunchy bites made from pure muscle meat are gently vacuum-dried at low temperatures and are therefore extremely aromatic. The meat snacks for dogs and cats in the practical 70 g pack are produced without preservatives, additional flavors or colouring agents. In addition, they are sugar- and glutenfree and also suitable for sensitive four-legged animals. In order to offer dogs even more variety, Defu provides three more cereal snacks in the varieties Chicken & Carrots, Chicken & Carob as well as Chicken & Spelt. The treats can be offered several times a day as a reward, while playing or simply in between. Thanks to the practical size they are also suitable along the way.
