The initials of Carl-Michael Diedrich are a well-known brand in the natural cosmetics market 30 years after the company was founded: CMD. However, the passion for natural products was already awakened before 1994. The Diedrich family gained their first experience with avocado oil, jojoba oil and tea tree oil in California in the late 1960s. Carl-Michael Diedrich was born in Germany, grew up in America and, with a few stops in between, including with various indigenous peoples around the world, finally settled down in Germany. As a dental technician, he intensively researched plant-based active ingredients for his own toothpastes. In 1992, he also began developing a tea tree oil cosmetics range. In the meantime, CMD's successful tea tree oil range has grown to more than 30 products. The one-man operation quickly became a company with an extensive range of natural cosmetics. The company philosophy of "less is more" is still the basis of all CMD products. The formulas are deliberately kept minimalist. The fewer different raw materials used to care for the skin, the fewer substances can trigger allergic reactions. The development of good natural cosmetics is a personal challenge for Carl-Michael Diedrich; always with an eye on sustainability, naturalness and effectiveness.
