The small village of Bohlsen in the Lueneburg Heath looks back on more than 700 years of milling tradition. Already in the 13th century a watermill stood there. In 1952, Helmut Krause founded the company Bohlsener Mühle, which was taken over in 1979 by his son Volker. Since then, the company has specialized in processing and refining organic grain and cereals. The grain comes mainly from organic farmers in the region. Since the 80s there is also a bakery on the site of the mill. Today, the assortment of Bohlsener Mühle does not only include different grain and flour types, but also breakfast cereals, biscuits, crackers and other hearty snacks in the best organic quality.
