Onions do particularly well in medium-heavy, nutrient-rich soils with a good water supply.
Planting in the field: beginning of March to mid-July.
Harvest: mid-June to end of September.

Tip: Onions are not very competitive in the young plant stage, so weed hoeing is important in the first few weeks.
