Aries Pheromone Attractant for Variotrap Funnel Trap for monitoring of insect pests like flour moths ((Ephestia kuehniella) and fruit moths (Plodia interpunctella). You need this pheromone capsule for the Aries Variotrap Funnel Trap. The attractant of the female food moths is incorporated into this capsule (dispenser). Male moths follow this scent and fly into the trap. The pheromone or attractant only attracts male moths.

While the trap is a one-time purchase, the attractants (pheromone capsules) have to be replaced at regular intervals. The pheromone capsules against e.g. damaging moths have an effective period of about 6 weeks (warmer = shorter).

To activate the pheromone capsule, please press the platform in, e.g. with a biro, so that there is a click. Put the pheromone removed from the protective packaging into the green basket of the Variotrap. Store still wrapped attractants in a cool and dark place (e.g. in the refrigerator).
Equip infested rooms with at least one trap per 80 m². The traps should be no more than 10 m apart, hung at the flight height of the moths (2-3 m high) or close to a dim light source. In rooms with high ceilings, the density must be somewhat greater and some traps must be hung in the upper area. Also equip adjacent rooms, corridors or passages with traps. The traps must hang as freely as possible to accommodate the circling movements of the moths. Do not hang traps in strong draughts.
