Alga Maris Sun Care

:

The nicest days of the year begin when you can leave the house without a jacket, when the street cafes open and when the fresh green of the meadows invite you to lie down. Because where else can you relax better than outside? When you look up into the sky with your palm in front of your eyes, the sun just disappears. Maybe that’s why it is so hard to imagine how big the sun really is. If one paints a model of the solar system on a scale of 1: 1.4 billion, the sun has a diameter of one meter. On the other hand, our earth has a diameter of only 9.1 mm.

In space, it is cold. The average temperature in the empty space of the universe is frosty minus 270 degrees Celsius. In contrast, the sun is hotter than 15 million degrees Celsius in its core. On its visible surface it is ”only“ 5,500°C. In the overlying chromosphere, however, it is already twice as hot at 10,000°C. Good that the planet earth has enough distance to the sun. As the earth turns around the sun like an ellipse, the distance is bigger and smaller. At the point of the orbit where the earth is nearest to the sun it is 147 million kilometers away. The largest distance from the sun is 152 million kilometers and is reached at the beginning of July. But why is it hotter in July than in January? The changing temperatures have curiously little to do with the distance to the sun. Responsible for the temperature difference and the seasons is the inclination of the axis of rotation of our planet. It ensures that for exactly half a year the northern hemisphere gets more sunlight than the southern hemisphere. Temperatures in Europe rise during this time, while in South America it is getting a little colder.

The fact that there is a vacuum in space allows us to calmly enjoy the sun during summer. Because space is airless, noise cannot be conveyed. And that's very good. On the sun, there is an unimaginable noise. Its seething surface creates gigantic walls of sound. It is almost a huge loudspeaker. If the sound from the sun came to the earth, there wouldn’t be any quiet anymore. Because despite the great distance the sun would permanently be heard in a volume of more than 100 decibels. This corresponds approximately to the noise of a jackhammer.

Fortunately we do not have to worry about the volume of the sun. But the effect of its rays shouldn’t be underestimated, since every sunburn can lead to permanent skin damage. One should never be exposed too long to direct sunlight. And even less without sufficient sun protection. For this, the French manufacturer Laboratoires de Biarritz offers mineral sun protection on the highest level with its line ”Alga Maris“. In addition to water-proof products with high and very high light protection factors, the series also includes after-sun products for the care after sunbathing. The products by Laboratoires de Biarritz are based on an active substance called Alga-gorria, which is obtained by a patented extraction process from a regional red alga (Gelidium sesquipedale). The extraction is carried out with mineral-rich seawater and at a pH value which improve the yield of active molecules and stabilize the extract due to conserving properties.

As an all-rounder for the whole body, you can choose between the practical Alga Maris Sun Spray and the light Sun Milk. The Sun Screen Stick or the Sun Cream is particularly suitable for the face. You prefer tinted protection? Then you should try the Tinted Sun Cream Face in the color variations Light Shade or Golden. The delicate skin of the lips is smoothly nourished and protected with the Alga Maris Lip Balm SPF 30. After sunbathing, the soothing After Sun Fluid refreshes the skin and moisturizes with shea butter and aloe vera. When the sun is shining and it's time for holidays, the Sun Care products by Laboratoires de Biarritz are a great choice.
