Davert Organic Red Lentils in the larger 1-kg pack. Red lentils are a protein-rich and traditional ingredient in Indian dal and curries. They do not need to be soaked before cooking and become creamy and soft after just a short cooking time – ideal for quick meals. Another bonus: red lentils are a natural source of fibre. In India, these lentils, which cook to a creamy consistency, are prepared as dhal and form a staple of the diet.

Toepassing:
Basic recipe (as a side dish for 2 persons): Bring 150 g of red lentils (without soaking) to the boil in twice the amount of water and simmer for 10–15 minutes with the lid on. Only add salt towards the end of the cooking time.
