In the past, this coffee substitute was also known as ‘Muckefuck’. Rumour has it that the name comes from the French ‘mocca faux’, meaning ‘fake coffee’. This caffeine-free coffee substitute has a malty, grainy and bitter flavour.

Here’s how: For each serving (200 ml), pour boiling water over 2 teaspoons (approx. 9 g) of lupin coffee in a French press, give it a quick stir, wait 4–6 minutes, then press the plunger down. Done.

Suitable for French press, Moka pot, Chemex and filter coffee machines.
