Dried figs lose a great deal of water during the drying process. This causes the sugar concentration inside to rise. When the fructose migrates to the surface and evaporates there, the sugar is left behind as a white layer. This is a sign of a natural product containing no artificial preservatives. This does not affect the flavour or quality.

Store in a dry place. Keep away from light and heat.
